WE ARE LOOKING FOR A 2024 SUMMER STUDENT
Noble Beast Farms is a small family farm in Prince Edward County. We raise alpaca and create eco-friendly products with their yarn. We host a small number of personalized events and experiences through the summer as well as run an on-farm shop.
We are looking for a summer student for 9 weeks in June – August 2024.
No experience is required as this is a student / intern role. You are expected to be enthusiastic and eager to learn about all aspects of working on a farm which includes a surprising number of skills to build your resumé. Lots of cool things happen here — I mean, we literally GROW sweaters! Our summer student role includes everything from caring for the animals (yup, including cleaning pens) to assisting with guests on the farm. We would ideally like to split the role between animal care and farm shop/tour help to give you a varied experience. This role will help you develop skills in: animal care health and behaviour, farm production (in our case of fibre products), working with the public, handling cash and taking payments. You DO need to be prepared to work outside in all weather. You are NOT expected to work alone and there will be an owner or senior employee on-site at all times. This role does not include working with farm machinery. We support a SAFE and WELCOMING environment for animals guests and employees alike. We encourage youth of all backgrounds and identities to apply.
This JOB PLACEMENT is funded by the Canada Student Job Grant which sets the following standards:
Age 16 – 30
9 weeks consecutive employment starting no later than July 1, 2024
30 hours/week
$19/hour
Hours/Days: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 8 – 4 PM (some flexibility may be possible)
Please send a CV and or statement of interest to us at info@noblebeastfarms.com.
